There is the traditional ‘spring clean’ clearout but Galway will be having ‘summer clearout’ this weekend.
Galwegians are being asked to take part in The Big Big Clearout by bringing their unwanted clean clothes, shoes, accessories, linens and good quality homewares to Joyce’s Supermarket car park, Knocknacarra, this Saturday, between 10am and 8pm, and Sunday, between 12 noon and 6pm.
Electrical or broken items, toys, beds, and baby goods cannot be accepted.
This event is in aid of the Galway Simon Community and the Beavers, Cubs and sea scouts in Knocknacarra. It is being organised by Galway City West Labour councillor Niall McNelis with the assistance of Joyce’s Supermarket and SSL Transport.
Money raised from the sale of goods will support those in the West of Ireland who are homeless or at risk of homelessness
