ALL ACTION Drama School will host works shops for all ages from 19 upwards as part of the Colours Fringe Festival.
There will be three different workshops, all of which take place in The Cube, NUIG, from 7.30pm to 9pm. Classes will be run by actor/drama-facilitator Aoife Heery.
In Stitches with Shakespeare (Tuesday July 2 ) looks at the basic principles of comedy and characterisation using stock characters from Comedia del’Arte. There will also be a focus on the word and the voice.
Hot Tin, Contemporary Theatre (Wednesday 3 ) will focus on the body and on emotion; exploring sub-text; and looking at atmosphere through sense exercises and memory. Tennessee Williams’ Streetcar Named Desire will form the spring-board. No prior knowledge of the text is necessary.
Doing It Solo (Thursday 4 ) is for those nervous at public speaking, class presentation, or preparing for auditions. This monologue workshop aims to build confidence and explores stage presence, emotion, posture and voice.
All Action will host workshops for teenagers at the Foróige Youth Café, Fairgreen, during the Galway Arts Festival. For more information on these and the Colours workshops, contact Aoife on 086 - 0372898 or [email protected] or see www.allactiondramaschool.com
