The Galway County Council will erect traffic lights at the top of the Headford town area before the end of this year.
The delay in erecting the lights was caused as a result of the laying of water, gas, sewer and broadband pipes at the location.
Fianna Fáil Cllr Mary Hoade, who allocated the funding for the lights through her discretionary Notice of Motion, has welcomed the news and said the lights will be “of great benefit to motorist and pedestrians”.
