The missing trawler that sparked alarm when it went missing off the west coast has returned safely to Rossaveal Harbour.
The 48 foot boat, the Banrion na dTonn, which was skippered by Galway city resident John Ted Doherty, and crewed by Aiden Murphy and Paidraig Ganley, docked in the Connemara harbour at 5am on Sunday.
Over the weekend the alarm was raised leading to a significant search for the missing vessel.
Two Aer Corps helicopters, an Aer Corps CASA plane, the Clifden lifeboat, six Coast Guard units and a number of trawlers joined in the search for the vessel which left Killybegs last Wednesday.
The crew told the Coast Guard that the trawler had developed a problem with its fuel system and drifted for 24 hours.
They managed to restart the engines shortly before being found on Saturday.
The family of the crew were on hand to greet them at Rossaveal Harbour.
