TONIGHT FLIRT FM, Galway’s student and community radio station, hosts a gig at Monroe’s and tomorrow, on air, it marks National Music Day.
The Flirt FM Sessions at Monroe’s Live will host a concert by Stephen James, Zero Era, and The Metrognomes.
Stephen James possesses a rich, expressive, voice and a depth of song writing ability that marks him out as destined for greater things. As Declan O’Rourke said: “He’s gonna blow people's minds. This is the real thing.”
Galway trio Zero Era have drawn comparisons with Queens of the Stone Age and Nirvana with elements of funk and acoustic rock thrown in. The Metrognomes are a north Galway quartet inspired by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Killers, and The Strokes.
Doors are at 9pm. Admission is free.
Tomorrow is Love: Live Music - Ireland’s National Music Day and Flirt FM will host numerous musicians for live sessions between 1pm and 9pm and broadcast a live concert from the NUIG College Bar from 9pm to 12 midnight.
