Rooney auctioneers secures national tenders

Rooney auctioneers & chartered surveyors has been successful in two recent national tenders, beating competition from a number of the country’s leading property firms.

The company has been appointed by Donegal County Council and the National Roads Design Office to act as valuers and acquisition consultants on the N56 Leitirmacaward to Glenties (Kilraine ) Road Scheme. The contract is expected to last between 18 and 36 months and involves valuations for assessment of compensation and acquisition negotiations for more than 290 property lots with 270 landowners.

Following another national tender the firm also won a new contract with the Department of Agriculture, Food, and the Marine as valuers and consultants for the Department of property in fishery harbour centres and foreshore areas under the control of the Department. The firm has a huge amount of experience in marine property including foreshores, having acted for Galway Harbour Company for the last 15 years. The contract involves the valuation of property and foreshores in addition to landlord and tenancy consultancy and negotiation for leasehold interests in properties, sites, and foreshores throughout the country including Cork, Dublin, and Waterford.

“I am absolutely delighted with the appointments for both contracts and even more satisfying is that it proves that we can compete with the larger international and national firms in the country for national contracts like this. It also endorses our expertise and reputation in the industry,” said Ronan Rooney.
