John O’Connell to Dig @ Galway Arts Centre

THE GALWAY Arts Centre is set to be transformed into a “dreamlike, intimate environment” by artist John O’Connell, for his debut solo exhibition Dig.

John is a multimedia and multi-discipline artist from Dublin. His work encompasses drawing, installation, sculpture, sound, and space. His installations seek to evoke extinct ages and post-apocalyptic wastelands, straddling the line between reality and fiction.

John holds an MA from the Royal College of Art, London and a BA from the National College of Art, Dublin. He has been awarded several artists residencies, most recently was a year long fellowship in Location 1 New York.

Dig opens tomorrow from 6pm to 8pm and runs until Saturday July 6. See www.jroconnell.com and www.galwayartscentre.ie
