ONE OF Ireland’s finest and most distinctive artists Robert Ballagh, and his daughter Rachel, will hold their new exhibition in The Kenny Gallery.
Ballagh & Ballagh...On Paper, featuring limited prints and original works on paper, opens in The Kenny Gallery, Liosbán Retail Park, Tuam Road, tomorrow at 6pm.
As a graphic designer, Robert Ballagh has produced more than 70 stamps for An Post, the final series of Irish banknotes before the introduction of the euro, and numerous murals, posters, limited prints, and book covers.
He has created set designs for The Gate Theatre and for the staging for the opening ceremony of the Special Olympics in Croke Park in 2003.
Rachel Ballagh graduated from the National College of Art & Design in 1992. She has received a number of awards from the Arts Council of Ireland and has a number of works in private collections as well as the Gordon Lambert Art Collection.
Her drawings in this exhibition explore line, shape, structure, and the colour of flora and fauna found in hedgerows.
