IKF European super welterweight kickboxing champion Gary "Slick" Manogue (above right ) successfully defended his title against a tough David Blais from Nantes in the northwest region of France.
Manogue, who fights out of the Galway Black Dragon Kickboxing Club, won the fight in fine style by unanimous decision, forcing four standing counts on the game Frenchman who refused to be stopped.
Manogue has now been promised a crack at the world title and it looks likely his opponent could be last year’s World Classic champion, Marco Capobianco from Canada, and the scheduled date is Saturday December 7 in Leisureland, Salthill.
