A night of Northern Soul and reggae

THE SPIRIT of Wigan Casino and the northern soul all-nighters will come alive in Galway at the Soulboys v Rudeboys night in The Cellar Bar underground this Sunday from 9pm.

The night will hear some of the finest soul, funk, 60s r’n’b, reggae, and Jamaican ska ever cut to wax, pumped through Function One speakers. Following on from the packed house last month this one promises to be even better with a dancefloor full of dancers spinning, kicking, and back-flipping.

The DJs playing these sounds on original vinyl 45s will be Danny Duggan, who runs the longest running soul club in Ireland, Dublin’s Sleepless Nights, and will be playing rarities and tried and classics; Bill Kealy (For Dancers Only ) Ireland’s greatest soul export, who will spin r’n’b, Latin boogaloo, and soul; Shane Walsh (Dublin’s Twine Time ); Galway's Dave Barry, Darren McDonnel (Dublin’s Sleepless Nights ), northern soul dancer and excellent DJ, will also be on the decks; as will Limerick’s Andy Flynn. Guest DJs from 9pm so get there early.
