Stagecoach Galway and Clare recently raised €755 with a Parents Do Stagecoach Day for Something to Sing About, an inspiring new charity that encourages cancer survivors to form their own choirs.
The charity is the brainchild of Galway based senior oncologist Dr Paul Donnellan whose son Thom attends Stagecoach.
Parents lined up with their children and attended all three classes in dance, drama and singing to raise money and awareness. Principal John Lucey said "This is a really worthy cause as being diagnosed with cancer is shocking news but there has never been so many survivors, today hence the mantra of something to sing about.”
“It seemed to strike a chord with our parents and teachers and it's exciting to see that the charity might go global with a new Australian choir recently too."
