The Dyke Road will be closed from 9.30am to 4.30pm today (Thursday ) and tomorrow to allow for essential repair works to Terryland Bridge.
In a statement, the Galway City Council said it is carrying out the works following repeated damage caused to the stone bridge over the Terryland River at the old waterworks on the Dyke Road. Works were due to begin at 9.30am today, after the morning rush, and will continue until 4.30pm on both days.
The road will be closed from the Black Box Theatre to Terryland Cross during these times on both days. Diversions will be in place in the area.
Galway City Council has apologised for any inconvenience caused while these essential repairs are taking place.
