WHATEVER HAPPENED to Cinderella and Prince Charming after they got married? Fairy tales answer it was ‘happily ever after’, but Ballet Ireland begs to differ.
In the company’s new ballet Cinderella - After The Ball, choreographer Morgann Runacre-Temple presents the not quite so ‘happily ever after’ couple back from honeymoon and having to face Buttons and the Ugly Sisters; Cinderella’s struggles as a working class woman now living as a royal; and the bankrupt Prince’s plans to auction off The Glass Slippers. Looks like it’s fairy Godmother to the rescue again.
Cinderella - After The Ball comes to the Town Hall Theatre this Saturday at 8pm. The Irish Times has called the production “a clever and witty sequel that is full of snappy set pieces. There’s plenty of fizzle throughout. Cinderella, although new, will still appeal to audiences used to the classics”.
Tickets are available from the Town Hall on 091 - 569777 and www.tht.ie
