THE ARTISTS Cecilia Danell and Emmet Kierans and the youth group Red Bird, will host a new art exhibition, Remember Me (When I Forget ), at the Galway Arts Centre.
The exhibition - curated by the Red Bird Youth Collective, made up of young people aged 16 to 24 - will include the collective’s debut film Belong. Made in collaboration with Jonathan Sammon and Ruadhrí Brennan, this sci-fi psychological thriller explores societal dislocation, isolation, and the role of companionship.
Swedish born, Galway based, Cecilia Danell is a member of Engage Art Studios. Her interest is the manner in which people explore their environment and she uses landscapes and depictions of urban areas as metaphors for internal states and the human condition. She works with a number of mediums including paint, film/video, installation, and object making.
Limerick’s Emmet Kierans works in paint, sculpture, photography and installation. His art looks at how the mind perceives colour and shape, with concepts of identity, and the unconscious.
The exhibition will be officially opened this evening at 6pm. All are welcome.
