Mor than 80 players from Ballinasloe, GLTC, Loughrea and Maree competed and supported a fundraiser for Pieta House in the inaugural Tennis Against Suicide event at the Galway Lawn Tennis Club on Saturday.
A pair of juniors from Ballinasloe, Meadow Founas and Mahmoud Giumaa, not only won all their junior matches, but then captured the B Section with a tie-break victory over GLTC stalwarts Nicky Nash and Gerry Doyle. In the A Grade GLTC players Pat Dillon and Serena Silke triumphed in another tie-break finish over Francis Power and Helen Lawless.
