Mid-heels are the new sexy

There is a new look in town, it is called the mid heel and I am a big fan. A refreshing alternative to sky-high heels, the mid heel gives us a natural allure and enough comfort to walk in all day. From chunky heels with open toe to classic coloured courts, comfortable slingbacks to wedges with ankle straps, these heels come in an array of styles and colours allowing you to update your wardrobe without compromising your comfort. Combine them with any of your work clothing, or weekend wear. Here is how to wear them this spring.

This season pumps, as designers call them, are designed to shine. The classic court shoe comes in an array of vibrant hues from electric blue, to interesting red, to yellow and burnt orange. Pair them with a white skirt and a printed shirt for a chic lunch date.

Kitten heels with pointy toes are great paired with cropped jeans and a blazer for the school run or a stroll in town. Next has a beautiful pair of red ankle strapped pointy pumps. The classic shape and simple style will make your outfit pop. For cocktail hour swap the jeans with printed trousers and a short sleeved top tucked in, and finish off with a glitter clutch.

For those summer weekend trips, showcase these three tones coloured sandals from Prego boutique with bare legs and shorts and a tonal long sleeved top. A neutral hued dress in cotton or linen will also work wonders with them.

The smartest way to ground contemporary tailoring for work is to team up a pair of chunky mid-heel T-bar shoes with structured work pieces. Marks and Spencer stocks a pair of T-bar sandals in black with accents of pink. These can be paired with a black dress and a cream jacket, or go for beige slim trousers, a printed blouse, and a structured jacket.
