Start-ups, SMEs, sole traders and professional businesses owned or run by women, will be offered a real opportunity to obtain business advice from a range of professional mentors to support their business’s growth later this month.
The “Support4Growth” mentoring clinic, taking place on Thursday May 16 in Hotel Ballina, Dublin Road, Ballina, Co Mayo, will be opened by Olwen Dawe of Irish Business Intelligence, and will feature a range of mentors covering all aspects of business support.
Galway Chamber, the lead partner in the “Supporting Women Entrepreneurs” European Commission programme, is running the clinic in conjunction with Sligo Chamber as part of their Western regional series of events. Collaborating with Olwen Dawe for the second time on this programme, Galway Chamber is delighted to bring the regional programme to Mayo and look forward to welcoming businesswomen of all walks from Galway, Sligo and Mayo to the mentoring clinic.
The mentoring clinic will offer all types of businesses a range of advisory supports through its expert business mentor panel, from business planning and finance, to marketing, PR and specialist advice for specific industries. A full listing of the mentors, and their bios, will be available via the “Support 4 Women Entrepreneurs” Facebook page [https://www.facebook.com/support4womenentrepreneurs], and delegates can select their preferred mentor / area of expertise when booking.
Speaking about the upcoming mentoring event, Olwen Dawe of IBI highlighted the importance of support in start-up and growth “It’s critical to understand the importance and role of mentoring / advisory support not only in early-stage development of a business, but also later on, when a business is in growth or transitional stages. This clinic, with its wide variety of supports and expertise will really add value for any business… the Commission is very committed to enhancing and supporting women-led businesses, and this programme is testament to this fact”.
Bookings for the mentoring clinic, which will take place on Thursday May 16, at 9.30 a.m. can be made via http://support4growth.eventbrite.ie and enquiries can be made to Galway Chamber at 091 563536. The clinic will run until early afternoon, and will include a light lunch.
