A DISTINGUISHED veteran of the Irish folk/singer-songwriter scene and a rising new force in Irish trad share the stage at The Forge, Moycullen, on Friday May 3.
Charlie McGettigan and We Banjo 3 will play the double headlining concert.
Charlie began his musical career in various rock bands before joining folk band Jargon and then going solo. His songs ‘Feet Of A Dancer’ and ‘A Bed For The Night’ have been covered by Maura O’Connell and Eleanor Shanley. In 1994 Charlie and Paul Harrington won the Eurovision song contest with ‘Rock’n’Roll Kids’.
Despite the name, the award winning quartet We Banjo 3 are a quartet made up of two sets of brothers. Their music combines Irish and bluegrass banjo and mandolin music and song.
