The Galway Clinic has stated that it was not involved in the settlement of the cases involving the family of the late Saundra O’Connor, as reported widely last week.
In the case, Mrs O’Connor’s family were awarded €580,000.
However, the Clinic at Doughiska have stated that the O’Connor family reached a settlement with the insurers representing the consultant involved in the gynaecological procedure, as the sole defendant.
“The Galway Clinic was not involved in the settlement of these cases,” they stated, contrary to what had been reported in many media outlets last week.
