IN DECEMBER 1912, UCG’s Dramsoc staged its first performance, Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. As part of the society’s centenary celebrations it is reviving this work.
Dramsoc will perform Twelfth Night from April 17 to 20 in the Bank of Ireland Theatre, NUI Galway, at 8.30pm. It will be directed by Sam Ferry.
This academic year marks Dramsoc’s 100th anniversary since its formation in 1912. Dramsoc recently won Most Alive Society, Most Successful, and Best Individual at the NUIG Societies Awards and received 10 nominations and won a Judges Discretionary award at Irish Student Drama Association Awards in Cork last month.
Dramsoc is inviting alumni and the local theatre community to attend a pre-show cheese and wine reception at 7.30pm on Thursday April 18. Those who wish to attend should email [email protected].
Tickets for Twelfth Night are available from the Socs Box NUIG, on the door, and through [email protected]
