AN EXPLORATION of the west coast of Ireland has resulted in a series of new landscapes and works by the artist Michael Downes which will be on display in Kenny’s.
New Paintings opens in The Kenny Gallery, Liosbán, tomorrow at 6pm, with guest speaker, writer and broadcaster John Quinn.
Downes uses a variety of media - watercolours, pen and inks, oils and acrylics - and is constantly experimenting with textures and searching for new ideas and compositions. In painting landscapes he enjoys the challenges imposed by the ever changing moods and lights and colours of the countryside.
The exhibition runs until May 9.
