See new Irish film Pilgrim Hill in The Eye

PILGRIM HILL, the new Irish film directed by Gerard Barrett, winner of the Rising Star awards at this year’s IFTA, will be shown in The Eye Cinema next month.

The film, which has been called “a masterful debut” by The Irish Times and “Irish cinema at its best” by RTE.ie, will be shown on Tuesday April 9th at 7pm, with the director in attendance, followed by a Q&A.

Pilgrim Hill centres on Jimmy Walsh (played by Joe Mullins ), a middle-aged, unmarried, and poorly educated farmer who must tend the remote family land, as well as for his ageing father. His social life amounts to an occasional couple of pints in the pub. He is finding life tough, but is not prepared for the turn it is about to take.
