Must have spring shoes trends

From colour blocking wedges, metallic detail loafers, to classic monochrome, bright hues, and playful floral, spring footwear trends are certainly out of the ordinary. If neutral shades and classic styles have been coveted looks for the past few seasons, it is time to make room for more audacious styles that will update your wardrobe. Here is a round up of what to look forward to this spring.

Bright colours are the biggest fashion trend for spring, from yellow to red and turquoise, with bright blue and coral being the most popular. Choose a colour that will play a big part in your wardrobe and help to coordinate several outfits. When styling coloured shoes pair them with neutral ensembles or at least one or two contrasting hues in the outfit, for a well coordinated and balanced look. Red shoes will look stunning with navy and accents of blues.

For the most adventurous spring look, try neon. From yellow to orange, these shades certainly stand out, so keep the look simple.

If bright shoes are this season’s favourite, pastel is not far from being spring’s strongest trend. Colours range from mint to baby pink to light aqua. Pastel kitten heels with ankle straps have been seen a lot on the catwalk. They are the new nude shoes and can be worn with dresses, skirts, skinnies, and Capri pants. If kitten heels are replacing killer high heels, then they are stunning in pastels or two tones shades. If you cannot wear ankle straps, try sling-back kitten heels with ankle length slim trousers and a blouse tucked in.

Colour blocking is also a strong trend in footwear this season. We are seeing a combination of strong colours paired with pastels and accents of neutrals or metallic on the lining, straps, or heels. Wedges in block colours are the ultimate spring off-duty shoes and can be mixed and matched with your wardrobe favourites.

Colours might be the biggest trend for spring but the classic black and white combo is also very popular. For work or for going out, pair this combo with all over monochrome or with a coloured ensemble.

Metallic is everywhere, from gold to light silver to bronze, coming in one shade or teamed with black, white, neutrals, or colours. For casual wear it particularly works well in loafer style shoes.

If you liked last season’s high heeled sneakers, you will be glad to see them again this spring. This time they comes in an array of shades and fabrics, but the most popular are metallic and neutral shades. High heeled sneakers look best with skinny pants and a T-shirt. If you do not like or cannot pull off high wedge sneakers, there are plenty of other casual styles such as the ankle high boot with chunky heels or wedge heels; perfect with dresses or skirts.

Finally, florals, always a spring favourite. But this time around the look comes in boots or sandals and will be funky paired with a floral outfit or a solid colour dress.
