The beauty of how shopping has evolved means that we have almost every brand at our fingertips thanks to e-commerce and online retailers. The most coveted, must-have item can be ours the minute we read about it in a magazine. I have spent the last week between Dublin and London, previewing the best spring summer collections from some of the world’s most famous online shops. Trends like monochrome and print dominate, along with statement accessories, especially in neons, which will inspire a colourful and fun season in fashion.
Boohoo.com Having collaborated with boohoo.com on blogs and London Fashion Week coverage, I have got to know the website pretty well at this stage, and one thing I have noticed is how quickly it can interpret trends from the catwalk and deliver them to your wardrobe. For that quick fix, boohoo is the place to go. Their storyline revolves around festival season with plenty of fringing, denim, and Aztec inspired prints. Jumpsuits (pictured, Grace Aztec jumpsuit ), cropped print trousers (pictured, blue floral print pants ), and leather jackets are key pieces, along with a shoe collection you will lust after. And not to forget, Boohoo continues its boutique range which was hugely popular last season, with a slightly higher price point, but just a bit more exclusive.
Asos.com One of the first purchases I made online was with ASOS, having heard about it from a friend who was living in London back in 2007. Since then, ASOS has graduated to a top fashion destination, collaborating with up and coming designers, as well as stocking high end labels like J Brand and Love Moschino. ASOS has focused on the 90s; metallics (pictured, snake effect leather skirt from asos.com ), tie-dye, monogram T-shirts, skinny jeans, and cropped tops. I’m not a fan of the head to toe trend look, so try adding one or two pieces to your summer wardrobe which will work with your staples, like jeans and T-shirts, and maybe a pair of high tops.
missguided.eu A new addition to my roster of online shops, missguided.eu has a young vibe, and channels everything I love about fashion with an urban edge. Colour is key, with shades like lime green, lemon, and candy pink making up the palette in skater skirts, full length jersey maxi dresses, and cut out tees.
Littlewoods.ie Littlewoods is great at collaborating and I really like the latest collection with Myleene Klass. A particular favourite is the neon wrap dress (€62 ) which creates the most flattering silhouette. This is a great piece for a wedding or a day at the races and can be accessorised with a chunky belt and some gold statement jewellery for the full effect.
So whether you want to start prepping your summer wardrobe for that long awaited holiday, or want to experiment with the latest trends, this should get you started.
