John Behan collection to be text-auctioned silently for Croí

Galway-based and internationally renowned sculptor John Behan RHA is once again supporting local charity Croí by creating a specially commissioned Behan Collection for auction at this year’s Croí fundraising gala ball which takes place tomorrow, March 22, in the Radisson Blu Hotel.

Behan has produced and certified a collection comprising four unique bronze sculptures - Waiting Bull, Golden Birds, Scrum Half’s Try, and The Tribesmen, all of which will be sold to the highest bidder on the night by means of Silent Text Auction. The items can be viewed in advance by visiting www.croi.ie where advanced bids can be registered.

Announcing details of the charity auction, which will include a couture piece by Laura Jayne Halton, Neil Johnson Croí CEO, expressed his gratitude to John Behan for his continued support of Croí’s ongoing fight against heart disease and stroke in the west of Ireland.

Behan is a member of the Royal Hibernian Academy of Arts and has produced numerous notable works including Arrival presented to the United Nations by the Government of Ireland in 2000; Wings of the World in Shenzhen, China; Famine Ship, the national famine memorial at the base of Croagh Patrick in Co Mayo; and Flights of the Earls Monument, Rathmullen, Co Donegal.
