Winters Property Management has announced that it is the first managing agency in Galway to be licensed by the Property Services Regulatory Authority (PSRA ).
The PSRA was established by the Government in 2011 to license and regulate the property services industry. Winters Property Management lobbied for this regulation and was to the forefront of discussions with the property regulator.
The company has welcomed the establishment of the PSRA, which it said will ensure that consumers will benefit from increased transparency, greater competency and qualifications, better levels of service, and a more professional approach to the property sector.
Since July 2012, property service providers may no longer operate unless licensed by the PSRA. The legislation covers property management, sales, auctioneering, and letting services. In addition to the company’s business licence, all of Winters’ property managers and letting agents hold individual licences to practise.
To view the official register of licensees visit www.psr.ie and click on ‘publications’. The register helps consumers to identify businesses which have qualified staff, appropriate professional indemnity insurance, approved tax and financial management systems, and have paid into the PSRA compensation fund.
Winters Property Management will hold a special information night on the PSRA for all its owner management company directors. It will take place on March 27 at 7.30pm in the Pillo Hotel and access will be by invitation only.
