Bank of Ireland provides credit clinics to help small and micro business access finance

Bank of Ireland is hosting a series of 100 credit clinics for small and micro businesses throughout the country.

This initiative targets new and micro sized SMEs and is open to customers and non-customers of the bank. The purpose of the clinic is to bring participants through business planning, the lending application process, the financial fundamentals of cash flow analysis and working capital cycles in their business, and the relevance of financial information.

The Bank of Ireland branch in Ballinasloe will host a credit clinic on March 14 2012 at 6.30. pm. These sessions are aimed at helping SMEs to prepare credit applications and provide useful information on the many services and supports available to small start up/early stage businesses. Recent research confirmed that many small businesses are not aware of the help available and these clinics will provide information on the credit guarantee scheme, micro finance, and the credit review office.

Commenting on the clinic in Ballinasloe, Gerry Real, commercial branch manager, said: “Economic recovery is about getting all segments of the economy moving. These clinics are a practical way to support small business owners that may not have been through the lending process or are hesitant to approach a bank as they are not sure what to expect.”

Michael Lauhoff, regional manager, said: “Bank of Ireland has given a commitment to Government to approve €4bn to SMEs this year and we are determined to achieve this target. We are actively encouraging any SME who is looking for credit to come and talk with us.”

So for all early stage and small micro business owners, reserve a place at the Bank of Ireland Credit Clinic launch in Ballinasloe on March 14. Contact 090 9642284.
