LOUIS DEPAOR and Japanese tanka poet Hisa Kagawa will be reading in Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop this Saturday at 6.30pm.
Tanka is a traditional Japanese poetical form that consists of 31 syllables arranged in a specific pattern. Kagawa has won numerous awards for her work, and will read poems from her newly-published book. Many of the poems were inspired by previous travels to Galway.
Corkonian DePaor is an acclaimed Irish-language poet and director of the Centre for Irish Studies at NUI, Galway.
The reading will be hosted by Rev Patrick Towers. Refreshments will be provided by the Wa Café. Admission is free and all are welcome.
