THE ADVENTURES of a pirate girl, and a tiny tiger in search of his teddy, are two new books for children from An Spidéal based publishers Futa Fata.
Lísín - Scoil na Páistí Deasa (Lísín – The school for Posh Kids ) written by Patricia Forde and illustrated by Joelle Dreidemy centres on Lísín, a pirate who is forced to attend school, on land. Her classmates are rather stuck up, but she is determined to train them in the art of piracy.
Patricia Forde is a former director of the Galway Arts Festival and also founded the international children’s festival Baboró.
Dainín is the first original boardbook series for todders and pre-schoolers to be published by Futa Fata. The series centres on a little tiger, Dainín. In the first book, Cá Bhfuil Teidí? Dainín searches for his lost teddy bear. In the second book, Cloisim Rud Éigin! Dainín discovers new and exciting sounds.
The Dainín books are by author, broadcaster, and singer-songwriter Tadhg Mac Dhonnagáin, the founder and director of Futa Fata. He is also the man behind the hugely successful Gugalaí Gug!
Futa Fata is a children’s publisher with more than 70 books in print. Its collections have also been published in Chinese, Korean, French, and Scots Gaelic.
