THOSE DOWNCAST by Ireland’s injuries, defeats, and bad luck in the Six Nations, which sees us out of the running with more games still to play, take heart.
There will be a chance to experience one of the great days of Irish rugby when John Breen’s phenomenally popular play Alone It Stands comes to the Town Hall Theatre from Monday March 11 to Saturday 16 at 8pm.
The play centres on the incredible day in Thomond Park on October 31 1978 when Munster beat New Zealand 12 - 0. In the play the six member cast perform 62 characters who talk about their memories of the day and the match, bringing in bonfires, birth, coaches, dogs, and rugby balls along the way.
Tickets are available from the Town Hall on 091 - 569777 and www.tht.ie
