US super group The Eagles are set to be the latest big name to rock Galway this summer.
The Californian band will bring their seven times platinum Long Road Out of Eden album to Pearse Stadium on June 28.
Following the likes of Westlife, and Bob Dylan, the gig is another major coup for Galway and Pearse Stadium and will be a welcome boost for the city next year.
It will follow soon after the arrival of the Volvo Ocean Race (from May 22 to June 6 ), meaning a busy summer despite the end of the Salthill Airshow.
The Long Road Out of Eden album debuted at number one in the USA in 2007, selling 711,000 units, and in only 9 weeks became the biggest selling album by a group.
The Eagles won the 2008 Grammy Award for Best Country Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals for "How Long."
The band have sold more than 120 million albums worldwide, earning five number one US singles and four Grammy Awards. Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 is the best-selling album of all time, exceeding sales of 29 million units. The band's Hotel California and Their Greatest Hits Volume 2 have sold more than 16 and 11 million albums respectively. The Eagles were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.
Tickets for the Galway gig start at €86.25 standing, while seated tickets are available for €106.25 and €131.25.
The band also play the Odyssey in Belfast on June 30 and the RDS in Dublin on July 2.
