Who is Afraid of the Big Bad Woods?

WHO IS Afraid of The Big Bad Woods? is the intriguing title of Maev Lenaghan’s exhibition in the University Hospital Galway Arts Corridor.

These works depict a journey through the snow, dusky wildernesses, and charcoal forests, to a series of interiors where a cast of characters appear in and out of various narratives.

“Most of us live removed from places where nature is still wild,” says Maev. “I create images that value the richness of our interior lives, while also our curiosity for wider horizons.”

Maev is a member of the Graphic Studio Dublin and a recipient of the 2008 Fellowship to Ballinglen Arts Foundation, Mayo, as well as of Arts Council and Culture Ireland grants. She has exhibited in Poland, Iceland, USA, and Britain.

The exhibition runs daily until March 15. All work is for sale and members of the public are welcome.
