Vulcan Solutions, one of Galway’s longest established technology companies, has moved its development centre from Parkmore East to the Headford Point building on the Headford Road.
A Microsoft-certified partner and business applications specialist, Vulcan Solutions employs a team of 40 IT professionals. The company added eight new positions in 2012 and expects further growth in 2013.
The company chose this new location because they wanted a workplace accessible to IT professionals living in the city.
“We are 10 minutes walk from the city centre, we are close to a host of amenities, and we have underground car parking; so this is a very attractive location for our existing and future employees,” said CEO Cian McNamara.
From its base in the West of Ireland, the company has delivered mission-critical projects for clients both at home and abroad. Irish owned and managed, Vulcan Solutions specialises in providing enterprise-scale business applications on Microsoft platforms (CRM and SharePoint ), and IT professional services.
Its main sectors of operation are the Government, higher education, and financial services sectors. Key clients include the Road Safety Authority, the Private Residential Tenancies Board, the Arts Council, NUI Galway, Trinity College, One Direct and Marsh.
Aligned with the company’s expansion, Vulcan Solutions is currently recruiting for a head of delivery in Galway. This is a senior and challenging role, with responsibility for the management of the company’s professional services, software development, quality assurance, and software support functions.
