A new smartphone app launched last autumn in Galway by local taxi company Big O Taxis has revolutionised the way in which people in Galway have been booking taxis.
Search for Click A Taxi now in your iTunes, Android store or Windows Phone Store. It is completely free to download and use. It is a great way to avoid busy phone lines and long taxi queues.
Big O Taxis have been serving the people of Galway for more than 30 years and has outstanding relationships with local people, tourists, local industry and of course students. Big O Taxis call centre employs 15 dedicated staff members, some employed with the company for 30 years. The call centre operates 24/7 all year round and with almost 160 drivers, you can be assured of no delay in the arrival of your taxi.
A lot of its customers are generation customers, meaning they use Big O’s services because they saw their parents use them. “We instil trust, confidence and reliability with our customers, we are entrusted to bring some of our customer’s children to school, unattended,” said a spokesman
Terry Fannon, IT manager at Big O Taxis believes there is nothing like the Click A Taxi app within the country.
"There are other taxi related apps out there to help you find a local taxi, but none which is integrated with a call centre and is part of a global network", he said. "Two taps on your smartphone is all it takes to tell our sophisticated booking system where you are, where you want to go and at what time”.
After the successful take-up of the smartphone app by the people of Galway, Big O Taxis will soon be launching an in-car chip and pin service to further accommodate its customers. Big O Taxis listened to its customers’ feedback on this technology and will soon be providing them with secure, reliable and a fast chip and pin facility to make payments with any credit or debit card.
