Killimordaly edged out in thriller

Killimordaly were edged out by the narrowest of margins last weekend in the All-Ireland Intermediate Hurling Championship semi-final after extra time by St Gabriel’s (London ) by 2-12 to 2-11 at St Brendan's Park, Birr.

Killimordaly were leading by 1-4 to 1-3 when they were reduced to 14 men in the first minute of the second half as Niall Earls picked up a second yellow. He was a big loss and St Gabriel’s, who have strong Galway connections, did just enough to qualify for the All-Ireland final at Croke Park.
