WHILE THE headliners include Elvis Costello and Imelda May, Galway bands and a stage hosted by the Róisín Dubh, will feature strongly at this year’s Westport Festival.
The Westport Festival of Music and Food takes place on Saturday June 29 and Sunday 30 on the grounds of Westport House.
Legendary Galway band The Stunning will be performing, as will the award winning vocalist and composer Julie Feeney. Originally from Athenry, Julie has been enjoying great success with her new album Clocks.
Other Galway and Galway based acts playing the festival are electro/trad musician Daithí Ó Dronaí, singer-songwriter Elaine Mai, left field punk/indie band So Cow, garage/indie-pop quartet Dott, and The Stephen James Band.
The Róisín Dubh Stage is a new venture at this year’s festival and will promote new and emerging Irish talent. The line-up is:
Delorentos, Le Galaxie, Squarehead, Daithí Ó Dronaí, Funeral Suits, Kid Karate, Sleep Thieves, Spook of the Thirteenth Lock, Mojo Gogo, Elaine Mai, In Their Thousands, So Cow, Dott, The Depravations, Doghouse, and The Stephen James Band.
