MARTIN MCDONAGH is enjoying great success as a film-maker in recent years, most recently with his tour-de-force black comedy Seven Psychopaths.
However he first came to attention in the 1990s, with his series of plays The Leenane Trilogy, which also featured a motley crew of misfits and eccentrics creating and finding themselves in violent situations.
The second play in the trilogy, 1997’s A Skull In Connemara, will be staged by Decadent Theatre in the Town Hall Theatre from Thursday January 31 to Saturday February 2 (previews ), followed by the official run from Monday 4 to Saturday 9 at 8pm
The production begins rehearsal next Monday and after its Galway run, it will embark on a 10 venue tour over eight weeks. The cast includes John Olohan, Brid Ní Neachtain, Patrick Ryan, and Jarlath Tivnan. It will be directed by Andrew Flynn.
