Do you want a healthier diet and lifestyle in 2013?

A six-week Introduction to Ayurveda evening course will take place in Galway with classes on Thursdays from January 10.

Ayurveda is a way of life which treats every person according to his/her individual constitution. It educates and empowers us on how to take care of our health and wellbeing by getting to know our physical and psychological tendencies. By guiding us in making small changes in our diet and lifestyle, Ayurveda can help bring us back into balance and consequently help prevent, treat, and remove both disease and symptoms. With a history of more than 5,000 years, it is one of the most comprehensive natural health systems in the world.

This course will help you identify your own Ayurvedic constitution, learn about the importance of proper eating habits and personalised diets, daily and seasonal routines, and the importance of a healthy digestive system, how to prevent toxic build-up, cleanse and rejuvenate the body. Explore some healthy recipes, become familiar with some simple home remedies and Ayurvedic herbs. Find out about treatment strategies for some common disorders, and more.

Ayurveda benefits a wide range of acute and chronic imbalances and disorders including the following.

Women’s health: menstrual and hormonal imbalances, fertility, menopause, fibroids, and PCOS.
