New books from Galway medics

A POETRY collection from a retired member of staff and a children’s book from a current staff member were launched this week in University Hospital Galway.

The Good Inventor by Charlotte Curley and Escaped Thoughts by Jack McCann were launched last night at the hospital.

Charlotte Curley is a radiographer at Galway University Hospitals since 1990. The Good Inventor is her debut book and is suitable for children aged nine plus. It is an adventure full of mystery and magic.

Jack McCann came to Galway in 1989 as a consultant plastic surgeon and retired in 2010. Last year he published his debut poetry collection, Turning on a Sixpence. Escaped Thoughts is his second offering. He has also written four plays.
