Tuam man named as Quality Assurance chief in CPA

Michael Costello from Tuam, Co. Galway has been appointed as the Quality Assurance Executive in the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland (CPA ).

Mr Costello is a qualified CPA accountant and has a Bachelor of Business Studies specialising in Accountancy from Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT ).

He also holds an ACCA diploma in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS ). Michael previously worked at PriceWaterhouseCoopers in Dublin. His role will involve assessing the quality of audits completed by CPA practices throughout Ireland.

The Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland represents over 5,000 members and students. ‘CPA' is the most commonly used designation for professional accountants worldwide and CPAs are qualified to work in Ireland and around the world in public practice, industry, the public sector, financial services and in public and private companies.
