THE HILARIOUS Who Needs Enemies? series returns to the Town Hall Theatre stage for it’s seasonal instalment, A Christmas Tale, next week.
The plays, written by Conor Montague, chart the hair rising and blackly funny adventures of Eoin Handcock who is forever being landed in terrible situations by his ghastly friends.
Who Needs Enemies – A Christmas Tale will be staged on Friday 21 December at 8pm. It was first performed in December 2010 and received a standing ovation from the large crowd who braved sub-zero temperatures to see the craziest Christmas Day ever depicted on stage.
In A Christmas Tale, three wise men arrive bearing gifts for Eoin Hancock (Mark Dooley ), who has just returned from a Buddhist retreat in the Himalayas. Eoin plans to spend a quiet Christmas with his long suffering girlfriend Cindy (Réidín Ni Thúama ), and determined to avoid relapsing into a destructive lifestyle. However his mates Gonz (John Donnellan ), Bottle (Conor Montague ), and Raymo (Ray Kelly ) have other ideas.
Expect flying reindeer, a degenerate Santa, a violent elf, and the greatest psychedelic substance known to humankind.
The cast also features Priscilla Nic Chonmara, John Lally, Liam Harkin, and Dara Ó Foghlú. The producer is Kevin Healy. This show is not suitable for children.
Tickets are available from the Town Hall (091 - 569777 and www.tht.ie ) and www.roisindubh.net
