Dempsey graduated with a degree in property management and investment whilst working at Salford City Council in the UK and qualified as a Chartered Surveyor at Robert Pinkus & Company in Preston.
He later joined Spencer Holdings in Liverpool as a Property Asset Manager where he went on to head a team of four others in management of a £200m industrial and office property portfolio with an annual rent roll in excess of £13m. On the sale of this business in 2011 he moved to First Investments Ltd to manage a number of shopping centres on behalf of Receivers.
