Renmore man releases country album

Renmore man Pat Creaven has just released his debut solo album, entitled Pat Creaven, which features the Galwayman’s version of a number of country and western classics.

The album features 12 songs, including Pat’s version of Willie Nelson’s ‘On The Road Again’ and Jim Reeves ‘I Love You Because’. The album was launched recently in the g Hotel’s Grand Salon with a concert.

The MC for the night was Galway Bay FM's Jimmy Higgins, who called the album a “lovely collection of well known songs in a very pleasant style, like the singer himself”.

Pat was born in Newbridge, County Galway, and is one of 11 children. He worked as a foreman on construction sites and entertained co-workers by singing country songs.

A fan of Big Tom, Brian Coll, and Larry Cunningham, Pat has been in popular demand as a singer in many of the hotels and bars in Galway city and county.

“People want a laugh as well as a bit of music on a night out, especially nowadays,” said Pat. “I found country music was the best when it came to touching people’s hearts, as we can all identify with the struggles and the joys in the songs.”

In December Pat travels to Brooklyn to perform gigs over the festive season in Kelly’s Bar in Bay Ridge, which featured in Saturday Night Fever.

Pat Creaven is available in OMG/Zhivago, Duggan's Supermarket, Renmore, and all the usual outlets. For bookings contact 087 - 144 80 24 or email [email protected]
