Galway’s favourite larger than life local The Front Door has been named as the official pub sponsor of Galwegians Rugby. The Front Door pub on Cross St has been an integral part of the Galway social scene for decades and has always been a proud supporter of local sports which makes its alliance with the historic Galwegians Rugby such a fantastic fit.
Galwegians is one of Connacht and Ireland’s leading rugby clubs with an active community of over 700 players and members. Founded in 1922, Galwegians has a long and distinguished history at the forefront of Connacht rugby. Alongside what happens on the field, there is a strong emphasis on enjoyment and building a community at Galwegians rugby. To add to this sense of community, joining forces with a much loved local Galway pub like The Front Door adds the perfect social venue Galwegians can call their own.
Colm O’Donnellan, Galwegians’ president, said of the alliance “We are delighted to have a real Galway pub like The Front Door to call our own, and we are happy they have come on board and shown their support to Galwegians. We look forward to enjoying many a gathering in The Front Door and thank them for their support of local rugby”
The Front Door has always been a meeting place for local teams and societies, a place where everyone in Galway knows you are guaranteed a great time and warm service. This year The Front Door showed its support again for local sports by proudly sponsoring former Galwegian John Muldoon of Connacht Rugby.
