Gearóid MacDonncha, from Béal an Daingin in Connemara, has been appointed Head of News, Eagarthóir Stiúrtha Nuachta, at Raidió na Gaeltachta.
Mr MacDonncha is from Béal an Daingin in Connemara and has been working with RnaG since 2006 and has spent more than two years presenting the station’s lunchtime news programme Nuacht a hAon. He has been presenting flagship morning current affairs programme Adhmhaidin since early 2010.
He was named Radio Presenter of the year at the Oireachtas Media Awards, Gradaim Chumarsáide an Oireachtais, earlier this year. He was previously named Irish Language Journalist of the Year at the Bord Gáis National Media Awards 2009.
