After a month of moustache growing to raise funds and awareness about men’s health issues, particularly prostrate cancer, Movember comes to a close this weekend.
As always though, Movember goes out not with a whimper but with a bang and the Galway Movember Gala Parté in Galway will take place in the Róisín Dubh, this Sunday from 7pm.
On the night there will be music from violinist and electronic musician Daithí Ó Dronaí and the bands Mojo Gogo and Strange Boats. There will also be a DJ battle in the Róisín upstairs bar between the Curfew, Express Yourself, and Alice DJs.
All Mo Bros and Mo Sistas - those who took part in Movember by growing moustaches, hosting events, fundraising, etc, are invited to attend and compete in a number of category titles, including Best Mo in Character, Team Mo, Miss Movember, and Man of Movember 2012.
Entry is free to all registered Mo Bros and Sistas by signing up through /ie.movember.com/team/723037 and this will also put them in with a chance to win tickets to see Connacht v Munster in the Heineken Cup on December 22 or Villagers on March 14.
So far more than 16,000 Mo Bros and Sistas in Ireland have raised nearly €600,000 in Ireland for men’s health with more to come. For more information see www.movember.com
