Park and ride begins at Ballybrit on Saturday

The Christmas park and ride service at Ballybrit begins this Saturday at 7am, and motorists can park at Ballybrit Racecourse and get bussed to and from the city centre for the all–in fare of €2 per car.

The service will provide buses every 15 minutes from the Racecourse to its drop off point at the Galway Coach Station on Fairgreen Road, close to the Galway Continental Market at Eyre Square.

The service runs until Christmas Eve (Monday December 24 ) and operates every 15 minutes Monday to Saturday from 7am to 9.30pm and on Sundays from 11am to 7pm.

In further news for commuters, Bus Éireann has special fares on Galway services in the run-up to Christmas. From now until Christmas Eve, promotional day return fares will see journies to the city from Tuam, Gort, Loughrea, Ballinasloe, Headford, Clifden, Kinvara, Mountbellew, Lettermullen, An Cheathrú Rua, and Costello for €10 adult return and €5 child day return.
