Do you know how running can benefit and even change your life? Would you like to discover the benefits of running and increase your motivation to run?
Ballybane Enterprise Centre is hosting a free seminar on Tuesday November 27 for those interested in running. The seminar is aimed at all runners but particularly beginner runners who may feel too intimidated, or do not have the motivation to take the first step.
The seminar is facilitated by Paul Fallon, programme director of On the Road Again, a not for profit organisation working to help homeless people experience the positive mental health benefits associated with running.
Mr Fallon, who has been a runner for over 30 years, testifies to the benefits of running on the human psyche.
“Over the past 30 years I have experienced not only the joy of running, but also how it can help improve your life and sort through problems as they arise. Since setting up On The Road Again, I have see how running has helped people from a diverse range of backgrounds also.”
Drawing on his own experience and in training clients of the On the Road Again programme to take part in the Dublin City Marathon, Paul’s seminar will outline the steps involved in learning how to run correctly.
“I firmly believe that almost everyone can run, if they are motivated and taught how to do it correctly. Once you learn this, you have it for life, and it is as simple as putting on a pair of runners and going out the door,” concluded Paul.
Announcing the event Liam Bluett, General Manager, Ballybane Enterprise Centre commented “Studies continue to find that running improves health and well- being. However many people may not realise the many psychological benefits to a regular running or jogging programme. Some of these include character building, relief from stress, and a boost in confidence. Next week’s seminar will help people discover how running can help them achieve their personal goals and contribute to a better quality of life.”
