Monroe’s live music venue and Monika Otcova, with a team of local zumba teachers led by Monika Otcova come together to support Galway Simon Community with a fundraiser on Nov 23 at 8pm and entry is €10.
Monika Otcova certified as an aerobics instructor in 2004 in Prague, moved to Ireland in 2006 and has been working in the fitness industry since. She specializes in dance-fitness classes and has broad knowledge in the most up-to-date teaching methodologies used in choreographed dance-exercise classes around the world, certified in zumba in December 2008 as one of the very first people in both the Czech Republic and Ireland.
Ms Otcova was the first to bring zumba fitness to the West of Ireland in January 2009 and to organize the first zumba events, since presented at conventions in Dublin as well as different master classes in the Czech Republic. She was featured on RTE's Nationwide in January 2011, and currently works as the activities/studio coordinator in the Kingfisher Club NUIG .
All the money raised will go to Galway Simon Community, supporting people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, Galway Simon works with the person’s needs through key workers, while supporting them in housing and addressing other social and personal problems with a team of care staff.
