With winter weather so unpredictable, some of EBS’s winter-ready top tips include making sure your pipes and water tanks are properly lagged and that taps do not drip. You should make sure that you know where your mains water stop valve/stopcock is and that it works properly.
You should also ensure that heat comes on at regular intervals to allow it to circulate and check that gutters and drains are cleared to prevent flooding during heavy rainfall.
To minimize storm damage, you should also see that roof slates/tiles are secure. If flooding is likely, move any valuable belongings upstairs, block doorways with sandbags and switch off electrical supply to avoid electric shock
